Returns, Exchanges & Refunds
Review the California Air Tools US process for final-sale equipment, authorized exchanges, shipping damage, approved refunds, and warranty service.
Last updated: August 1, 2026
Many compressors, tanks, pressure vessels, and industrial systems are heavy, regulated for shipment, or built for a specific configuration. Please confirm specifications before ordering and contact us before sending any item back.
Return authorization is required
Do not ship equipment to the manufacturer, warehouse, or carrier without written instructions and a return or exchange authorization. Unauthorized shipments may be refused and may not qualify for credit.
General policy: orders are normally final and are not accepted for discretionary return after shipment. When an exchange is approved, the standard request window is within 60 days of the original purchase date unless the product page, quotation, or written order terms state otherwise.
Contact us first
Email info@californiaairtoolsus.com and include:
- Order number, purchaser name, and delivery address.
- Complete California Air Tools model number and serial number when applicable.
- A clear description of the issue and when it was first observed.
- Photos of the model label, equipment, packaging, and any visible damage.
- A short video when it helps demonstrate a sound, leak, control, or operating concern.
Shipping damage or incorrect items
Inspect all deliveries promptly. Visible freight damage or shortages should be written on the carrier receipt before signing. Keep the complete packaging and contact us as soon as possible. For parcel damage or an incorrect item, provide photos of the shipping label, carton, internal packing, and product.
Approved exchanges
If an exchange is authorized, the item must be returned exactly as instructed, with all components, manuals, and accessories. Equipment should be clean, safely drained or depressurized where applicable, and packaged to prevent transit damage. The customer is responsible for return transportation unless the written authorization states that the item was shipped incorrectly or qualifies for another remedy.
Items that cannot be credited
- Products returned without authorization or outside the approved window.
- Installed, modified, abused, contaminated, incomplete, or customer-damaged equipment.
- Electrical items connected to incompatible voltage or phase.
- Consumables, used filters, hoses cut to length, special-order parts, or build-to-order configurations unless defective and covered by an approved remedy.
- Damage caused by inadequate repackaging or an unapproved carrier.
Refund timing
If a refund is expressly approved, it is generally initiated within about two business days after the returned item and required documentation are inspected. Banks and payment providers may require additional time before the credit appears. Original delivery fees, return freight, address corrections, redelivery, or special-service charges may be non-refundable unless the written approval states otherwise.
Manufacturer limited warranty
California Air Tools products generally include a one-year manufacturer limited warranty for the original retail purchaser, subject to the warranty document and the owner manual for the exact model. Warranty service addresses defects in materials or workmanship under normal use; it is different from a discretionary return. Proof of purchase is required, and transportation obligations can vary.
Download the current warranty policy and product manuals before requesting service.
